May Your Days Be Merry and Bright-- Simply Sweet Christmas Inspiration Hop

November 25, 2017

The FABULOUS  Lesley Croghan from Always Playing With Paper  invited us to participate in an inspiration blog hop focusing on LAST MINUTE SIMPLE YET SWEET Christmas cards or tags!  So,if you are looking for some inspiration for those last minute Christmas cards, you have come to the right place!  So hop along and be sure to visit each blog. There is a lot of inspiration and ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

I have never been one to mass produce Christmas cards.  I always like each one to be an original, but that just isn't the case this year.  I don't know why I am so far behind on my stash, but when Lesley asked me to be a part of this blog, I was thrilled.

All of my cards are created on a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 card bases.  I went through my stash and pulled out a few pieces of patterned paper that I had on my table top.  I cut each one using a retired MFT scalloped border die.  I stamped the sentiment using W Plus 9 Be Merry stamp set.  I stamped the sentiment 6 times in different colors of ink to match the backgrounds I chose.  I cut the sentiment out using the matching die.  I adhered the sentiment to each background using dimensionals.  I stamped a variety of retro light bulbs using the Reverse Confetti Merry & Bright stamp set.  I cut them out with the matching die.  I adhered two to each card and colored the tops with Copic Markers C1 and C3.  I added Wink of Stella to the bulbs and a twine bow at the top of each one.

This was so easy and fun and I love the results.  I think I will make a few more.  Each one looks unique and fun because of the variety of papers.

  2. Love how unique the patterned paper makes each one. Such beautiful colors and little sequins/dots. I make a random amount of cards each year, since most of our acquaintances just get a photo card of the family. Sadly I was so sick last year that none of my handmade cards made it out the door. Guess I've got a head start this year! I don't make many of the same design, so the style ranges to whatever fits my mood when I'm stamping.

  4. Love the versatility of this design. Sky is the limit with patterns and colors. I send most folks photo cards printed at Mpix, and make a couple dozen clean, layered cards for close friends and family members.

  13. What a great set of cards, Claire, and I love the DP you've used! Love the sweet, old-fashioned Christmas lights and the sentiment! Sweet CAS cards! I struggle making CAS and find myself coloring a lot and not getting as many cards finished as I would like. Must try making more CAS! Hugs!

  14. Each one is festive! How fun! and a good way to use scrap sections since it is about 4 x 5 instead of 5 x 7. What a win-win situation for this busy time of year!!!
