Warm Wishes --PPA 264

August 21, 2015

I wanted to play along with the Pals Paper Arts Challenge this week.  I have to admit, this sketch threw me for a loop.  It looks so simple, but coming up with 3 ideas for the small panels was difficult.  That's why they call it a "challenge"!  Stop by the blog and check out all the wonderful ideas from the Design Team!  They are fabulous!

I actually started the card with a different paper, but after stamping the sled and skis from the new "Warm Wishes" stamp set from Stampin' Up!, (available Sept.1st)  I knew that I needed a plaid to look like that cozy, lodge feeling.  I searched through my box of Christmas papers and found a perfect scrap.  I was so excited.  I love this tartan plaid, but I don't know where it is from.  Sorry!

My base card is Basic Black.  I used the Zig Zag Stitched rectangle die from SugarPea Designs for my plaid.  I stamped the skis and sled on Crumb Cake with Early Expresso ink and trimmed them down to size and mounted them with Basic Black to make them pop.

I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set with Early Expresso and trimmed it and mounted it on Basic Black.  I added a clothes pin for fun and tied a small linen tread bow and attached it with a glue dot.  I then stamped the little pine cone and fussy cut it for a little added dimension.

I sure hope you enjoyed my card today.  It isn't often that I make a card without white paper or black ink.  LOL!  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

Wishing you a fabulous weekend!
TGIF!

HUGS!
Claire
