Ikat --Birthday PPA194

March 7, 2014

It has been raining for two days.  It would have been a perfect time to create cards, but I had a better surprise.  Miss Victoria has been with me for two days. There has been a bad stomach virus in her school, so guess who got it?!?  Now, I am praying it doesn't pass through my house, too.  She is 20 months of joy!  I am one happy Grammy to spend time with her.  She is such a cuddle bug, and she fills my heart with joy!

During nap times, I have crept out and made two cards.  I had to do them in stages, so hopefully, I can get them posted before the Princess wakes up.

The Pals Paper Arts Colors Challenge intrigued me this week.  I do not usually use these colors, but really loved how they looked together.  I bought the new Photopolymer Stampin' Up! Ikat stamp set.  I LOVE it!!!!!  I am such a fan of Native American items and decor.  I played around with it and came up with a pattern that I liked using Night of Navy, Wisteria Wonder and Smokey Slate.

Stampin' Up! Products:

Paper:  Whisper White, Smokey Slate, Wisteria Wonder, Night of Navy

Ink:  Night of Navy, Wisteria Wonder

Stamp Set:  Ikat (#134624) Banner Greetings (Hostess Set)

Tools:  Stampin' Trimmer, Snail Adhesive, Paper Snips, 1 " Square Punch for Pennant, Stampin' Dimensionals

Embellishments:  Denim Jean Ribbon, Night of Navy Candy Dots

I made a border on my envelope and inside the card.  I think this is the perfect card for a guy.  Think of all the possibilities with the stamp set patterns and colors.  I am certain you will see more cards with this stamp set in the future.

Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.  Have you ever used this stamp set?  I would love to hear from you!

Stay warm!  March is certainly not showing us Spring time weather yet!

Happy Stampin!
Claire

  2. WOW, I have this set and have not been able to make it work for me. I love this card. The Wisteria Wonder image in the background softens the Night of Navy zig zag. I am definitely going to CASE this card. Great job Claire.

  4. I love how you combined the two Ikat designs. This is one of my current favorite sets. I tried to pin it, but it just pinned the photo of your sweet granddaughter.
