Another hot and HUMID day! I know so many areas are getting rain. I wish some of it would come to Georgia! It has been high 90's for the entire week and supposed to be the same next week. WOW! It is going to be a very hot summer for us, I think.
I have not been able to enter many challenges lately. Being on three Design Teams keeps me very busy. I want to try create a few cards in the next few days. My granddaughters are coming Sunday for Camp Grammy, so I don't think there will be any cards made then. LOL!
This is for the Friday Mashup Challenge and the Pals Paper Arts Challenge. I am so excited that I can enter it in both of these fantastic challenges. Make sure you visit their blogs for lots of inspiration from the designers!
The The Friday Mashup calls for a project using stencils/and monochromatic. I thought that would work out well with the sketch from Pals Paper Arts. So, here is my take on the challenges.
I chose to use orange because it is a color I don't tend to use. I am such a fan of red, so orange is like the color that never gets used. I used a stencil from Ranger-Dyan Reaveley Stencil 5 x 8 DIAMOND Dylusions using Hero Arts Ombre Ink-Butter to Orange. I sponged the three shades of orange all over white card stock to create my background I cut it out using my stitched square die.
The sentiment was made using Winnie and Walter-The Big, The Bold and Friends Cutaways. I sponged some ombre ink on a piece of white card stock and then ran it through the Big Shot 3 times using my "Hugs" die. I used a glue pen to adhere them together and added Glossy Accents all over it for shine. I sat it aside to dry while I did the embossing.
I made three white banners. They are 1", 3/4" and 1/2" long. I ran them through my Big Shot using three different embossing folders that were in my stash to add texture.
I wanted my card to be square. I made the base card white and added Pumpkin Pie cardstock , another white layer and then the stenciled square. I adhered the white embossed banners and the sentiment.
A few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added for shine.
I hope you enjoyed visiting my blog. Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.
Have a fantastic weekend!

Celebrate Today--Sparkle and Shine Challenge-CMCC No76
June 18, 2015
It was 100 degrees this afternoon, so, I hid in my craft room. I was crazy enough to play tennis in the early morning, and it felt so good to just hide in the a/c for a while!
My card is for the Sparkle and Shine Challenge and for the Colour Me...! Challenge.
I absolutely love the color combo, Elegant Eggplant, Coastal Cabana and Old Olive. The sketch made it so easy for me to figure out what I wanted to do.
I used the new "Brushstrokes" background stamp from Stampin' Up!! I just love it! I know you will be seeing it a lot on my cards. I stamped it on Whisper White using Coastal Cabana ink. I used one of my banner framelits and set it aside while I worked on my flowers. Shop on my site to purchase any item from Stampin' Up!
The flowers were created using the stamp set "Vintage Flowers" by Altenew. I kept practicing on scrap paper to get the right color combo. There is definitely a learning curve to use the stamps. I absolutely love the way they turned out. I used Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder and Perfect Plum for the different steps. I used the matching dies to cut them out. Then, I stamped the leaves using Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz and cut them out with the dies.
The white background was cut using a die by Mama Elephant. The purple polka dots is from SU and cut with the Mama Elephant die, too. I mounted the Coastal Cabana banner on top of it after using a piece of vellum under it to tone down the polka dots. I cut it with the Mama Elephant die, too. I also mounted a white circle cut with my stitched circle dies to mount the flowers on. It really does not show in the picture. I used lots of foam tape to add dimension under the flowers and leaves.
The sentiment and small banner were stamped in Elegant Eggplant using Winnie And Walter -The Big-The Bold-and Extras stamp set. I fussy cut the banner. I double mounted the banner to make it stand higher than the flowers.
Wink of Stella was added for lots of shine. It is difficult to see in the picture, but I think it adds so much to every card. I also added sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Don't sequins make everything better?
I hope you enjoyed my card today. Thank you for visiting my blog. Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.
Have a fabulous Friday! Stay cool!

A Cup of Thanks-- Always Playing With Paper-The Challenge #39
June 15, 2015
It is time for a new inspiration photo at Always Playing With Paper --The Challenge! We can't wait to see all of your fabulous creations using our photo!
Today I used my first digi stamp. I found it on Etsy at Carmen's Place. I love all the fun cups. I actually trimmed it down so it would fit on my card. I had so much fun coloring the cups in my favorite colors with my Copic Markers.
I used my Mama Elephant--Peek A Frame Creative Cuts to create the white layer and the red layer. The red and white paper is from the new release by Papertrey Ink-Nostalgic Notions. I am in love with all the items in this amazing set! The cups were added using foam tape on the back for dimension. I added a white Baker's Twine bow and made a tea bag by punching the red and white polka dot paper with a postage stamp punch. It is a retired Stampin' Up! punch.
The sentiment is from the retired Stampin' Up! set Tea Shoppe. I stamped it in black ink and punched it out with the Word Window punch. A few marshmallow sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added for some sparkle!
Thank you for stopping by today! I love to hear from you, so please leave a comment.
Be sure to stop by The Challenge to see the gorgeous projects by the rest of the Design Team!
Have a great week!
