Believe Keeping Christmas

May 25, 2018

I am honored  to be a part of the Keeping Christmas Inspiration Blog Hop.

It's time for this month's installment of Keeping Christmas with The Challenge design team!  We will be sharing Christmas creations on the 25th of each month!!!

The whole idea is to have some Christmas cards and projects in our stash all ready to go for December 2018!

So hop along and be sure to visit each blog.
There is a lot of inspiration and ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

I have owned this folk art Santa for years and still love him.  He is from Papertrey Inks "Believe" stamp set.  I started my cards using the assembly line process.  I cut the Crumb Cake top panel using a stitched SSS rectangle die.  I used the smaller size to cut a frame in each panel.  I used embossing paste and a stencil to create the inside snow.  It gave the snow texture.

While those sections dried, I work on paper piecing the Santa suits. I used a few scraps I found in my stash.  I made two alike and one different.  I used a Copic C1 Marker to add color to the fur and Santa's beard.  The "Believe" is from the same stamp set and stamped in black on each frame.  I thought the card needed more so, I used the Honey Bee Snow Birds set for the snowflakes and white ink to stamp the  snow flakes on the frames.

I decided to mount each one a different card base.  I used Basic Black, Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler for the bases.  The Santa's were adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I found these snowflakes embellishments in my stash.  They are from Tim Holtz. I attached them with glue dots and added a twine bow.  I really think the different colors gives a totally different personality to the Santas.  Which one do you like best?

I sure hope you enjoyed my cards today!  Thanks for stopping by!  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

The hop is hosted by the fabulous Kelly Lunceford's blog, so head over there to start from the beginning.

ENJOY the blog hop!  I hope we inspired you to make a few cards, too!

HUGS!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used the Concord and Ninth Hope Stamp Set to create my sentiment.  The Hero Arts Ombre Pink to Red ink was used to create the sentiment .  The flowers were created using the Altenew Peony Bouquet stamp set.
I used Altenew Dark and Dark Night Inks for the blue peonies.  The circles were stamped off using the ombre ink using the same stamp set.  A few sparkling clear sequins were added to complete my card.

    Just For You! PP#393

    May 13, 2018

HAPPY MOTHER'S Day to all the Mom's!  I hope your day is special!

It’s Sunday and it's time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

I am the hostess this week and I have a bold, bright color challenge for all of you!  You know I love vibrant colors and I can't wait to see what you create!  I did use flowers on my card, and I adore flowers, but I hope you will get create and show me some fun ideas!

My card was created for my Mommy for Mother's Day.  She drinks a lot of tea and loves flowers, so I combined two of her favorites on her card.  My card is created on a white card base.  I used a Crumb Cake background.  It was cut with a scalloped die and embossed with the large polka dot folder.  The cup is from Uniko--I LOVE Tea stamp set.  I fussy cut the cup and then paper pieced a piece of Strawberry Slush card stock for the cup.  I embossed it with the small polka dot folder.  The tea was colored with Copic Markers.  The flowers are cut using the Stampin' Up!  Botanical Blooms framelits.  I love this set!  It makes such gorgeous blooms!   I used all the colors in the color combo for the flowers and leaves.  Candy dots were added inside the flowers.  The sentiment was stamped in black and cut with a banner die.
