When I Think of You-Ampersand DD #88

February 1, 2014

I felt better today and wanted to make a card for the Dynamic Duos Color Challenge.  I love the colors this week!  Any time REAL RED is a choice, I am a happy girl!  I really like Island Indigo, too, so it was easy for me to think of several ideas for my card.  The ampersand embossing folder is so much fun, so I pulled it out to make this card.  ENJOY!!!!!

Thank You-Black Magic FM 145

February 2, 2014

Today is Groundhog's Day and Super Bowl Sunday!  I am excited to watch the game and the commercials.  I will be cheering for Peyton!

I have had a lot of time to visit blogs and watch tutorials on card making techniques since my knee replacement surgery.  I found a technique on Splitcoast Stampers that I have never heard of or rarely seen used.  It is called Black Magic.  I thought I would give it a try.  It reminds me of those Black Tole Trays you see in antique stores.  I always found them interesting.  I am adding the link if you are interested in learning this technique.  ENJOY!  Thank you to Wendy Weixler for sharing this tutorial!             http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/blackmagic/

I am using the sketch challenge from The Friday Mashup for my card!  I love this sketch and I will use it again!  You could mash it up with some sponging and I did sponge a little white ink around the flower.

Amazing You FMS 121 and FabFri34

February 1, 2013

I can not believe it is February!  It just seems like we were celebrating Christmas!  Now on to all the birthdays we have this month.  (That would be 5 in one week)

I went in my craft room again today in little time segments.  My leg is getting a little stronger each day.  I am truly grateful to all my wonderful friends and family members that check on my every day.  It is heartwarming to have so many calls, cards, meals, flowers and rides to PT.

I loved the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and the Color Challenge at Fab Friday featured my favorite colors.  I can't stand long so, I combined the two challenges to make my card today.  The colors are so bright and vibrant and they always make me smile  ENJOY!!!!!

I was so excited to use my new Stamp Set, Spiral Spins from the Celebrate the Everyday Catalog!  With the little glasses and dots, I thought they all resembled eyes!  And anyone that knows me, knows how I LOVE polka dots, so all the circles came together perfectly!
