Live is Meant To Be Enjoyed! Inspired By 80

June 11, 2019

Inspired By... beach day

What do you think of this? I feel so relaxed when looking at this photo. How are you inspired? colors? denim? woodgrain? picnic?  I love the beach!  It is my happy place!

My love for the beach reflects in this little girl.  The theme and colors in the inspiration photo inspired my card.  I used the MFT Pure Innocence Beach Day stamp.  I colored her with Copic Markers.  I paper pieced her hat and suit and added some polka dots with white gel pen.
I used Distress inks to create the background and sand.  I added some gold paint flecks in the sand to add dimension!  Wink of Stella was added for shine to the float and sand pail.

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog!  We hope you will join us this week!

You're The Sweetest Pick of the Patch Inspired By Challenge 79

July 4, 2019

HAPPY Birthday America!

I participated in the AJC 50th Peachtree Road Race today.  It was a very hot day, but we had a blast!  So thankful to live in America!

It's time for a new challenge at Inspired By!

Strawberry season is upon us... I love strawberries and so do my Grands!  My mother used to make the most wonderful strawberry short cake.  The funny thing is that it was cake but, a sweet pie crust.  We poured heavy cream on it.  It was my favorite summer treat!

Isn't this a pretty picture? How are you inspired? strawberries? texture? sketch? colors? grid?

I used the fabulous new Sweet Strawberries Bundle from Concord and 9th!  I embossed a scalloped white background to add elegance to the strawberries. A piece of gold thread was added to the top of the berry.  I also embossed the envelop.

So much inspiration in this photo!  I used a wood grained paper for my background.  I used Coastal Cabana paper and sponged it with brown ink.  Red and white gingham paper strips add the pop of color.  The grill is from Your Next Stamp For the Boys.  I colored the grill with Copic Markers and added Wink of Stella for shine.  A few enamel dots were added for fun!

Happy Blooming Birthday Inspired By Challenge # 74

May 30, 2019

It's time for a new challenge at Inspired By.

What inspires you about this photo?  Is it the lace, the daisy, the colors, the buckets, the clothes line?
We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created with a lace die by Neat and Tangled.  Doily Envelope Die is absolutely beautiful and reminds me of the lace in the photo.  The flowers and sentiment are from the Stampin' Up! set Flower Patch.   It is a retired set, but it was the only set that I had that had a daisy like flower.  I used two shades of yellow to stamp the flowers.  A pearl was added to the center of each flower.  The lace folds over the card base to create an envelope.  I tied it up with a yellow ribbon to complete my card.

What inspires you about this photo?  Is it the wood grain, the wreath, the cactus the foliage, the greeting?  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I added wood grained paper on the top of the card to to along with the inspiration photo.   The circle is cut using the SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Circle dies.   I cut the banner from the same wood grained paper using the WPlus 9 Be Merry die set.  The cactus and leaves were created using the SugarPea Designs Stuck on You stamp and die set.  Two shades of green ink were used to stamp them and thanks to my Misti that was easy to do.  It adds more shading that way.  The cactus flowers are stamped in two shades of pink.  I added a little pearl inside each pink bloom.  The large Welcome sentiment is stamped on a piece of the wood grained paper and popped up with foam tape.

Life Is Meant to Be Enjoyed! Inspired By 77

May 16, 2019

It's time for a new challenge at Inspired By!

Isn't this a gorgeous photo?
How are you inspired? checks? flowers? colors? squares? layers?

My card is created on a white card base.  I used water color paper and two colors of distress oxide ink on my background.  A few water droplets were added to create the splashes.  I also used another piece of water colored paper to add some brown distress oxide ink to use in the cut out section.  I used the Reverse Confetti Swoosh Cover  Panel to cut out the background.  I cut it again in the brown color and pieced that section in to look like the sand.  The little girl is from MFT Pure Innocence.  I believe she might be retired though.  I paper pieced her bathing suit with the yellow and white gingham checks like in the inspiration photo.  I found some flower and cactus paper in my stash and paper pieced her float.  Her "pillow" is pink!  The sentiment is stamped in brown.  It is from the same stamp set as the image.  hope she makes you smile!

Congrats Inspired By Challenge

May 2, 2019

It's time for another fun challenge at Inspired By.

What inspires you about this photo?   Is it the colors, patterns, pennants, banner, triangles, layers?  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a piece of blue and white polka dot paper for the first layer.  I used a striped embossing folder to create the next layer.  I liked the stripes in the inspiration photo.  I picked a variety of patterned papers and punched out a lot of pennants with an old Stampin' Up punch that I found in my stash.  I added a piece of white Baker's Twine for the line and tied a bow on each end.  A polka dot scalloped border was place on each side of the gingham rectangle.  The "Congrats" was cut with a die five times to create the sentiment.  It gives the sentiment lots of dimension.

Age is Merely The Number----Inspired By #59

April 25, 2019

It's time for another fun challenge at Inspired By.

What inspires you about this photo?   Is it the colors, numbers, metal, baskets, theme?  We can't wait to see what you create!

The first thing that caught my eye in the inspiration photo was the numbers.  I looked through my stash and found this fabulous piece of paper with numbers.  Win-win, it was even the right color combo.  The chalkboard inspired my sentiment.  I found this stamp in my birthday greetings--sorry, not sure where it is from.  I used the Penny Black Antique Frame Dies to cut out the black card stock.  I embossed the age sentiment with white embossing powder.

I added three wood grained rectangles behind the sentiment.  A strip of black card stock was added behind the wood grained rectangles.  I also added the wood grained paper to the envelope flap.

My card is created on a Kraft card base.  I was inspired by the globes in the photo and found some map paper in my stash and used it at the top of my card.  I added a strip of wood grained paper for the bottom of my card.  I used the MFT BB Our Story set to create the items in my card.  I colored them with Copic Markers.  I paper pieced the chair.  All of the pieces were cut out using the matching dies.   The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp  Bookworms Rule! stamp set.  I added a pink enamel heart in the center.  Wink of Stella was added to most of the items for shine.   Since the theme is Earth Day, I printed this on the title of her book.   I think she is enjoying this book, don't you?

April 11, 2019

I am thrilled to announce that I am joining the Inspired By Challenge Design Team!  When Laurel asked me to be on the team I was elated!!!!

Here is the photo inspiration for this week!

 April Showers bring---
What inspires you about this photo?  clouds, colors, food, clusters???

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a light blue panel to the top of the base.  I loved all the pastel colors in the photo so, I selected a pastel floral layer on top of the blue.  The adorable little girl image is from SugarPea Designs.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and paper pieced the umbrella and picnic basket towel with gingham checks.  I added two clouds and some rain drops from the Mama Elephant Stitched Sky Dies.  Since it is a rainy day picnic, I added the fun Let's Do Lunch sentiment from Craftin' Desert Diva's set.

You're Kind Of A Big Deal Inspired By 55

January 22, 2019

I am playing along with the Inspired By Challenge today.  I just love the plaid in this inspiration photo.

I just purchased this fabulous Plaid stencil from Newton's Nook.  I created the plaid using Distress inks ( Black Soot and Gathered Twigs).

The base card is Kraft card stock.  The black and Kraft circles are cut using Sugar Pea Designs Zig Zag Circle Dies.   The Sugarpea Designs  Stay Strong stamp set was used for the muscle man and the sentiment.  I colored him with Copic Markers and cut him out with the matching Die.

A few enamel dots and some Wink of Stella was added for shine.

I stenciled the envelope flap and the  used a left over strip to complete the inside of my card.

I made this for my son for his birthday.  I hope it makes him smile!

Have A Great Year! Inspired By Challenge 31

August 5, 2018

I adore Back To School cards and challenges!  After teaching Elementary school for 27 years, I still LOVE the smell of new crayons and enjoy buying school supplies.  I browse up and down the aisles like I am still going to school. I get to buy supplies for my Grands now, so that makes it even more fun!

I am playing with the talented DT team at the Inspired By Challenge.

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a layer of Real Red cut with an SSS Stitched rectangle  die.  The top panel is a black message board using the new Letter Message Board and Letter Dies from SugarPea Designs.  Message Boards are all the rage, but let me tell you, getting all those little letters straight took patience!  LOL!  I also used the Teacher's Pet stamp set from Sugarpea Designs for the bear, pencils and rulers.  All of the images were colored with Copic Markers.  Wink of Stella was added to the images.  A few primary color enamel dots and a paper clip were added for fun!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!  Have a great day!
