Hello Spring Inspired By Challenge 115

March 12, 2020

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge at Inspired By!

Spring is Near-----Don't you love the sound of those words?!?

How does this photo inspire you?  Is it the heart, the bird, the wreath, the flowers, the colors, the textures, the ribbon?  So many wonderful items in this photo.

I added a wood grained panel to my white card base.  I added a stitched green panel behind my wreath and flower.  This wreath is stamped using the Simon Says Stamp Mandy's Flowers  stamp set.  I colored it with Copic Markers and cut it out using the matching dies.  The sentiment is stamped in black.     I added a twine bow and a few sparkling clear sequins to complete my card.

It's Your Time To Fly Inspired By Challenge #114

March 5, 2020

It's Thursday and it is time for a new challenge at Inspired By

How fun is all this green?  I love all these old kitchen gadgets!  Such a cozy feeling when you look at this photo!  Doesn't it remind you of a cottage/cabin kitchen?

How does this photo inspire you?  Is it the kitchen items, the shades of green, the shelf, etc???

I needed an inspirational card for a friend, so I decided to use the color green in my card.  (I know it looks more yellow, but it is really green paper.  LOL!)  I cut a scalloped panel of green and added a plaid (with green) on top.  This little MFT Pure Innocence girl made me think of Spring.  This stamp set is called Butterfly Kisses.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I paper pieced her dress and colored her with Copic Markers.  I added green in her butterfly wings.

A Book Is A Gift Inspired By Challenge #113

Feb. 27, 2020

How cozy is this inspiration photo?  Doesn't it make you want to jump on the sofa and read a book!

How does this photo inspire you?  Is it the colors, the books, the flowers, the textures, the patterns, the sofa?  We can't wait to see what you create.

I was inspired by the books on the coffee table.
My grand daughter's birthday is coming soon and she loves to read.  She loves yellow and pink so I selected this Stamping Bella Book Worm Squidgy stamp to create her card.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and added lots of Wink of Stella for shine.  I cut the panel and added a flowered background to help the image pop.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I added a few yellow enamel dots for fun.

Make Today Amazing Inspired By Challenge 112

Feb. 20, 2020

It's time for a new challenge at Inspired By!

I absolutely love cacti.  I lived in Arizona for a few years and I fell in love with cacti.  They intrigue me and I only wish I could keep them alive.  LOL!  I know I water them too much, but I continue to try to have a cacti planter in the summer.

How does this photo inspire you?  Is it the cacti, the colors, the pots, the patterns?  We can't wait to see what you create.

My card is created on a white card base.  I added MFT Black and White striped paper for the next panel.  The top white layer is cut with a SugarPea designs zig zag stitched rectangle die.  The circle was cut with a circle die.  The cactus and the pot are from the Stamps for Life Succulents2 stamp set.  I used the matching dies to cut them out.  I paper pieced the pot with a piece of paper in my stash.  I colored the red flowers with Copic Markers.  A few black enamel dots were added to complete my card.

Sending You Love Inspired By Challenge 111

Feb. 13, 2020

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge at Inspired By

How can you not love this gorgeous patchwork?

What inspires you about this photo? Is it the patchwork, the color combo, the lantern, the patterns, the squares?  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created using my favorite color combo-Real Red and Tempting Turquoise.  I started with a turquoise card base and added a red panel trimmed with a stitched rectangle die.  I cut a white panel using a stitched die, too.  The quilt pieces were made using the MFT Blueprints #20 dies.  I made a frame with the turquoise and then cut the die in white and removed the white squares and embossed them with a folder.  Then I cut the die again with red and white polka dots to get the geometric shapes for the centers.  I added a sentiment stamped in red.  This card is for my Sweet Mommy that used to sew all the time.  I sent it to her for Valentine's.

My card is created on a black card base.  I added a Real Red panel cut with a scalloped die.  The white panel is cut with a rectangle die.  The shoes are from The Ton Power Pumps stamp set.  I stamped them with black and grey inks. The red sole was colored with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  A few sparkling clear sequins were added for fun.

I must say, I don't own a pair of Christian Louboutin
shoes.  I don't think I could walk in them if I did!  But, I LOVE shoes and this sentiment makes me smile!

Serenity Now Inspired By Challenge 107

Jan. 16, 2020

It's Thursday and we have a new challenge at Inspired By!

How are you inspired by the picture? colors? texture? bold print? sketch?

The older I get, I cherish "quiet" time.  It restores my soul.  There are so many distractions in our busy lives.  I love times when there is NO TV, internet or phone.

I have to laugh that I chose a girl doing yoga because I don't practice yoga.  I know I need to, but they told me I couldn't talk in class, so I decided it wasn't for me!  LOL!

I created a background on watercolor paper using Distress Inks.  I love the way it turned out.  My little girl is from MFT Stamps.  She is a Pure Innocence girl.  I love these stamps.  This on is called PI Serenity.  I colored her with Copic Markers, paper pieced her shirt and cut her out with the matching die.  The sentiment is stamped on black and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I cut the ends of the black sentiment to create a banner.  A few black enamel dots completed my card.

I was inspired by the theme, the red mittens and the black and white pattern.

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a black panel on top of the card.  Then I embossed a white panel with an embossing folder with snow flakes.  The mittens were created using the Stamps of Life Mittens 2 Stamp set and dies.  I used red paper for the mittens and some patterend black and white patterned paper for the cuffs of the mittens.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I heat embossed it in white powder.   The cup is from the Simon Says Stamp Coffee and Tea stamp set.  I colored the cup with Copic Markers and fussy cut it.  I added a band of patterned paper.

Peace Inspired By 103

Dec. 19, 2019

It's time for a new challenge at  Inspired By!

It is less than a week until Christmas!  I hope you are ready so you can enjoy!  I still need to do some baking, but I am finished with my Christmas cards and shopping.

How does this photo inspire you?  Is it the colors, pinecones, bowl, nature?  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I trimmed a watercolor panel with a stitched die.  I smooshed distress ink on the panel.  When it was dry, I added water drops and white paint splatters on top of the distress ink.  I used a retired Stampin Up stamp set Ornamental Pine for the pine branch and pine cone.  I heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I used navy ink to stamp over the embossing for the pine cone.  I used a die to cut out the sentiment 5 times in silver glimmer paper.  It adds so much dimension to the sentiment.

I found this fabulous paper in my stash, so I trimmed it with a scalloped border and let it speak volumes.  The poinsettia is cut in pink paper using the MFT Poinsettia Dies.  I sponged the edges with a darker shade of pink for more dimension.  I added a few sparkly pink enamel dots to complete my card.  No sentiment needed on this one!

I Love You. You're Welcome. Inspired By 98

Nov. 14, 2019

It's time for a new challenge at Inspired By!

We are all so busy getting ready for the holidays.  I hope you will find time to play along with our inspiration photo.

How does this photo inspire you?  Is it the colors, the circles, the garland, the leaves, the berries, felt??  We can't wait to see what you create.

My card is created on a white card base.  I was inspired by the colors in the photo.  I added a piece of snowy patterned paper to the background.  I took several pictures, but could not get the blue to show up very well.  I cut this piece with a scalloped die.  I also cut a snow drift with the scalloped die and added Versa Mark and lots of glitter to make the ice.  The adorable little girl is from MFT Pure Innocence Sassy Skater stamp set.  I paper pieced her skirt and jacket.  I added polka dots with a white gel pen.  The sentiment is stamped in black.  It is from the same stamp set.  I added a few snowflake jewels I found in my stash.  Wink of Stella was added for shine, too.  Doesn't she look like she is having fun?  I have fond memories of skating on little ponds on the farm as a child.  I was never very good at it, but it was always fun!
