  • Please limit the number of combined challenges to no more then 5 including ours.
  • Have fun!!!

  • The Challenge is open for 2 weeks and the Linky will close on Friday, October 2nd @ 6pm EST

  •
My base card is black.  (5 1/2 X 4 1/4)  The next layer is watercolor paper.  I cut it out with the SugarPea Designs-Zig Zag Rectangle Stitched Dies.  I used Broken China and Seedless Preserves (Tim Holtz) Distress Inks with a blending tool to create my night sky.  I took a few liberties with the sketch on this one.  I added black and white Baker's Twine to create the diagonal.  After the background dried, I stamp bats with black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.

The bats and mirror were created using the Avery Elle-Twisted Treats Stamp Set.    The mirror was stamped in black Momento ink and cut using the Avery Elle -Twisted Treats Die.

I stamped a web in the mirror, too and then covered the glass section with glossy accents.  It is very difficult to see this in the photo.  The sentiment was from a retired Stampin' Up! set. I stamped it in black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I also added another bat that I fussy cut for dimension on the mirror.  Rhinestones were added for more shine.

    Ghouls Night Out--The Challenge #41

    September 7, 2015

HAPPY LABOR DAY!  I hope you are enjoying an extra day to be with family and friends.  It is so difficult to believe that summer has passed by and we are headed into Fall!

We are so excited to be back at: Always Playing With Paper--The Challenge!  We have a fantastic sketch for you to use for your creation!

Just a few things to do:

    1. Use the challenge to create a card.
    2. Please add the challenge photo to your post (copy and paste).
    3. Have fun and comment on the submissions of others.
    4. Anything that is offensive to myself or to my viewers will be removed.
    5. Have fun.

My base card is black.  The next layer is Tangelo Twist.  I added a strip of Halloween paper that I found in my stash for the left side. I wrapped black and white Baker's Twine around the panel and added a bow. I cut a black rectangle to mount my main panel on.  I used Hickory Smoke and Seedless Preserves Distress inks to create the background for my "Ghouls" on white card stock.  I stamped the ghost using Lawn Fawn-Booyah stamp set on white card stock with Momento black ink.  I colored them with Copic Markers and added the features to make each one unique. I used the matching dies to cut them out.

I adhered them with dimensionals so they would pop off the card.  Now, they look like they are flying!  I stamped the sentiment with black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog today!  I love to hear from you, so please leave a comment!

Be sure to stop by The Challenge to see all fabulous projects by the Design Team members cards!

    Have a wonderful week!

Witch Way To The Candy--Sparkle and Shine Challenge-Tags

    September 1, 2015

How did it get to be September?  WOW!  Time just flies by!

It is time for a new challenge at Sparkle and Shine!  We have a fantastic photo inspiration for you to play along with.

We are challenging you to create TAGS! They can be stand alone tags, tags on cards and/or can be for any occasion. Enjoy and have fun with this one!!

For this challenge we are sponsored by the amazing Pretty Pink Posh! Her shop contains tons of beautiful sequins all colors and sizes along with amazing dies to help you create! The winner of our challenge with received a $25 gift card to her store!

My base card is black.  I stenciled stars for the background using Metallic Silver embossing paste and a star stencil from Stampin' Up!.  While that dried, I cut a tag from Crumb Cake card stock and cut the top with the Scalloped punch from Stampin' Up!  I rounded the corners on the bottom with my paper rounder. I stamped the sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps, "Boo and Friends" with black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I used dimensional tape to adhere the tag to my card.

The ghost was stamped on White card stock with Momento Black Ink.  I used the matching die to cut out the ghost.  I colored the hat, broom and wand with Copic Markers and added lots of Wink of Stella for shine.  Dimensional tape was added to the back of the ghost.  Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added for more sparkle.  The black and white ribbon was in my stash and I tied a piece of linen thread to make a bow.

Hope you are able to join us in this challenge. Check out all of the beautiful cards from the design team on the blog here!

Please leave a comment if you have any questions or thoughts on my card. I love reading your comments. As always, the products used will be listed and linked below.
