If the Hats Fits FMS 402

Sept 13, 2019

I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week!

My friend Karren designed the sketch for this week.
It was perfect for my idea.

I love Halloween and these Witch Hats make me smile!

I used the Simon Says Stamp If the Hat Fits for my card.  I stamped the hats in black ink and colored them with Copic Markers.  I added Wink of Stella for shine and also added some detail with a white gel pin.  I stenciled the brooms with a stencil Witch Brooms from Carta Bella.  I used Fossilized Amber and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks.  I added two strips of black card stock to frame the brooms.

There Is No Better Friend FMS #400

September 1, 2019

I have been trying to make a card all week for the Freshly Made Sketches amazing milestone!
This is their 400th challenge!  Each week they inspire so many of us!  I am always in awe of all the DT cards and the following they have.

CONGRATULATIONS and thank you for all you do for the card crafting community!

My card is created on a white card base.  I have been saving this image since last year to use on a card.  It is from Honey Bee Stamps Acorn Sisters stamp set.  I stamped the image and colored all of the girls with Copic Markers.  I added some Wink of Stella for shine.  I dug through all my Fall papers and found these leaves and the rust colored papers that matched.  The sentiment is stamped in brown and it is from the same stamp set.  I loved the way it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  Hope you enjoyed my card.

Witching You a Happy Halloween FMS200

August 18, 2019

I loved the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  They are celebrating their 400th sketch and this week's sketch is from the archives #200!  Such a fun way to celebrate this amazing milestone!  Congratulations to all the DT members!

I had so much fun creating this card.  I started with a white card base.  I created a Distress Oxide ink background and cut it with a die from Craftin Desert Divas.  I adhered it to a purple and black panel.  The grass was cut using the MFT Tucked in Turf Vertical Die using black.  The houses and witch are from MFT Best Witches.  I colored all the images with Copic Markers and added Wink of Stella for shine.  The sentiment is embossed in white using the same stamp set.

I Love You FMS 397

July 20, 2019

I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

Kim has a wonderful sketch for all of us!

My grands love S'mores, so I used this stamp several times this week to create cards for each of them.  Kim's sketch was perfect for all my yummy items!

Red and white gingham checks shouts out picnic or campfire fun, so I used some patterned paper backed in light gray for my two panels.  I cut Zig Zag circles from SugarPea Designs for the background on my cracker, marshmallows and candy bar.

This stamp set is from Neat and Tangled.  It is called S'more Fun.  I used the matching dies to cut all the pieces out.  A fun sentiment from the same set and a few red hearts completed my card.

Happy Christmas FMS 394

June 30, 2019

I haven't played with my friends at Freshly Made Sketches for weeks, so I had time to make a card for their challenge today!  Jen T.'s sketch is so versatile and I know it will be used many times!

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a red layer and a Christmas print for the top layer.  I made three bows using The Ton Stamps Grand Bows.  I stamped them in red, green and blue!  I used a Christmas word die for the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  Have a great week!

Congrats On Your New Home FMS 382

April 7, 2019

Today I had a little extra time to play in my tepee.  I loved Jen's  sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  I must admit, I made three cards before I was finally  satisfied with my card.  Do you ever do that?  It can be so frustrating.  It took two days to finally come up with this card.  So many starts and stops.

I will say the banner for the sentiment is what caused the problem.  I wanted to use this stamp set because I have two friends that just moved to new homes.  I took the liberty of turning the sketch and using the post on the mailbox for the sentiment "SOLD" to replace the rectangle shape on the sketch.

My card is created on a white card base.  I mounted a wood grained paper on dark brown card stock for the background.  I used the Neat and Tangled stamp set Welcome Home for the mailbox and sentiments.  The matching die was used to cut it out.

The flowers are stamped in black and colored in Copic Markers.  The stamp set Bloom also from Neat and Tangled. I used the matching dies to cut out all the flowers.

And I Think To Myself FMS379

March 16, 2019

I am playing along with Judy's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches today!  I had a lot of ideas for this fabulous sketch, but finally decided on something that has been on my mind for a few days.

This is one of my favorite songs!!  I play it every time I walk so that I appreciate all the beautiful things in nature!  Spring time in Atlanta is gorgeous, and I love to surround myself with the beauty around me!

My card is created on a white card base. For the  top layer I used  a rainbow stencil and created the rainbow using sponges and different distress inks. The white rectangle strip is embossed with clouds.  The sentiment is from Serendipity Stamps And I Think To Myself and  I stamped it in black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder for shine.  The sun is cut using a die that I found in my stash.

I added a strip of yellow and white polka dots inside and used the sentiment from  Casual Fridays Stamps-Sands of Time 2.  We certainly need to treasure time because it passes much to quickly!  I heat embossed it, too.  I added polka dots on the envelope and now it is ready to be addressed and mailed.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!

Shine On FMS371

January 21, 2019

WOW!  It is cold in the ATL!  So, I found a little time to play along with the Freshly Made Sketches  challenge!  Love the sketch by Jen M. and it is one that can be used so often.

I love the backgrounds you can create with alcholo inks.  So, I pulled out a few fun reds and pinks and created this background on Yupo paper.  I added a few gold foils on it.  I stamped the sentiment in black Staz On on the gold foil strip.  The gem is created using a die in my stash.  I have to search to find out where it comes from.  Sorry!

My photos don't really do the alcohol ink background justice.  It is so vibrant and bold.  I love it.   This is the inside of my card.

LOVE FMS 370

January 12, 2019

It is chilly here today, so I had time to make a card for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This week's sketch is courtesy of the talented Jen Timko.  I have always loved their challenges and just never find a lot of time to play.  So happy to share my card today!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used a retired MFT Blueprints die set to cut the red scalloped piece and the black and white X's.  I found this paper in my Valentine stash.  The LOVE is cut in white and red using the Cherry Lynn Bohemian Word
die.  I cut the little candy conversation hearts out of white, red and pink paper using the Cherry Lynn Sweetheart Candy Dies.  Such an easy card to put together!

A big thank you for stopping by my blog today!

Who Said Life Isn't A Fairytale---FMS344 and Inspired By Vintage Linens

July 5, 2018

Today  I am playing along with two special challenges.    I haven't had time lately to play along with any challenges except my DT requirements, but when I saw the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and the fabulous theme at Inspired By, I new I had to find some time to make a card.

I love all vintage things, so I was excited to use this patterned paper I have been hoarding.

My card is created on 5 x 5 Very Vanilla card base.  The Vintage papers are from Authentique Fabulous card stock.  I used a doily and antiqued it with Tea Dye Distress ink to place behind the sentiment.  The sentiment was in the paper pack.  I added a Very Vanilla bow and a Real Red button with twine.  Such a fun vintage look!  Such an easy card with not stamping!

Serving Up Smiles FMS 336

May 11, 2018

Today I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I have been so busy lately that I haven't had time to play with their sketch and I love their creations!

Here is their sketch for this week:

My card is created on a white card base.  I do not own any tennis paper and I found this digital paper on Etsy and copied it.  I didn't even know you could do that.  It was so exciting. It is from Sports Printables. I love tennis and this is the only tennis stamp I own.  I keep begging the stamp companies to come out with some tennis stamps soon!!!!!  I stamped and colored my image using Art Impressions Birthday Love stamp set.  I colored her with Copic Markers and added Wink of Stella for shine.  I used my new Scan N Cut Machine to cut her out.  The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp Sports Fanatics Two  stamp set.   I needed a thank you card for a lady on my tennis team and I think this will make her smile!  I had fun creating it!

Happy Spring-- FMS 329

March 25, 2018

I loved Kim's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  I had some extra time on this rainy day, so I played along.

My card is created on a white card base.  I also cut another white layer and added it to my card with dimensionals.  The watercolored background is created with distress inks using the smooching method.  Water was added to form the droplets.  The butterfly stamp is from StampingBella.  Babette is colored with Copic Markers and I then I cut her out using my new Scan N Cut!  I love this machine!  I added lots of Wink of Stella on her body.  The sentiment is stamped on a black banner and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The stamp is from SugarPea Designs Egg-A-Licious stamp set.  A few sparkling clear sequins were added for fun!

Thanks for stopping by my blog tonight!

March 8, 2018

Today I am playing along with the fabulous team at Freshly Made Sketches!  Jen M. has a fun sketch this week.  I love that you can use any shape to create your card!

Linda Callahan, this is for you!  I know you are in the middle of a snow storm!  Brighter days ahead, My Friend!  XX

My card is created on a white card base.  I used Daffodil Delight to create the back layer.  I trimmed a white layer with a stitched rectangle die and used a sun stencil to create the sunshine with distress inks.  I used distress inks and Mama Elephant Ocean Waves Dies to create the ocean layers.  The MFT Pure Innocence Beach Day stamp set for the little girl image.  I colored her with Copic Markers and added Wink of Stella to her suit for shine.  The matching dies to cut her out.  The sentiment is stamped in black using the same stamp set.

So happy you stopped by my blog today!  I know we are all waiting on warmer days!  I hope my card made you smile!
