Thanks A Bunch--Sparkle & Shine Challenge

November 1, 2015

I can not believe it is November 1st!!!!  This year has flown by!  I sure wish I could make time slow down.  SO much to do, so little time!

It's time for a new challenge at Sparkle & Shine!  We are excited you are here and hope that are inspired! For this challenge, please use the photo inspiration below when creating your projects. You can create in any way that you like as long as we can see the inspiration in your design.

For this challenge we are sponsored by the amazing Pretty Pink Posh! Her shop contains tons of beautiful sequins all colors and sizes along with amazing dies to help you create! The winner of our challenge will receive a $25 gift card to her store!

I had such a great time creating this   I love, love, love the jewel tone colors.  First, I used watercolor paper and created the first layer using a blending tool and Twisted Citron (Tim Holtz) Distress ink.  The next layer was created using Wilted Violet Distress Ink and then embossed it using the Taylored Expressions-Weathered Embossing Folder. The sentiment is stamped using Altenew Label Love stamp set and Momento Black ink.

I created the flowers by coloring sheets of watercolor paper with the different Distress inks.  (Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, Blueprint Sketch and Twisted Citron)  I stamped the flowers with Momento black ink using the WPLUS9-Doddle Buds set on these sheets that I created.  I used the WPLUS9-Doodle Buds Dies to cut out each flower and leaves.  Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins were added for sparkle.  Wink of Stella was added on the flowers for shine!

Hope you are able to join us in this challenge. Check out all of the beautiful cards from the design team on the blog here!

Please leave a comment if you have any questions or thoughts on my card. I love reading your comments. As always, the products used will be listed and linked below.

Hugs,
Claire

Happy Fall--SSC111

October 4, 2015

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  This week we have a color challenge for you to play along with.  I love the colors because they are out of my comfort zone.  It forced me to try something new. So, that is WHY it is a "Challenge"!   We can't wait to see all you fabulous projects!

  • Feel Free to use any brand of Product you have.
  • Please create a new project with the Sketch above and provide a link to our challenge or use the challenge graphic in your post.
  • Please limit the number of combined challenges to no more then 5 including ours.
  • Have fun!!!

  • My base card is white.  The top layer is cut from a retired set from Stampin' Up. (Adventure Bound) with SugarPea Designs-Rectangle Stitched Dies.  The next two layers are backed with Basic Gray and crumb cake patterned paper from a retired Christmas set from Stampin' Up.  All the corners are rounded with a corner chomped   The sentiment is stamped with black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The Basic Gray circle is cut by stacking two SugarPea Designs-Circle Stitched Dies to create a frame.  Another circle was cut with white card stock.  I stamped the squirrel from SugarPeaDesigns-Nuts About You  and colored it with Copic Markers.  I used Gathered Twigs Distress Ink on the edges.  The leaves were cut using the SugarCuts-Stitched Autumn Dies and distressed with the Gathered Twigs ink.  Wink of Stella was added for extra shine.
